This couples session at Sparks Lake, Bend, Oregon was too good. In fact, Sparks Lake is up there in my top 5 photo locations in Central Oregon. You really cannot go wrong with the stunning views of the Cascade Mountain Range, nearby meadows, and surrounding lava rock. This place is magical no matter which way you look: 360 degrees of breathtaking beauty.

Within five minutes of meeting Devyn and Austin, I could tell this shoot was going to be one for the books. Their energy screamed “we’re madly in love” and that’s exactly the energy I live for. They were such champions, braving the November rain and wind, while laughing the entire time. Their love shines through and is so apparent in every single image.

When should you book a couples session at Sparks Lake, Bend, Oregon?

Sparks Lake is a quick 30-40 minute drive from Bend depending on the traffic. It is one of 14 lakes that you can explore by driving up the Cascade Lakes Highway. The access road closes around the first snow of each year and reopens June 1st, but if you have a snowmobile, you can access the lakes year round.

Things to keep in mind for your next couples session at Sparks Lake, Bend, Oregon:

On average, the lakes on the Cascade Lakes Hwy are about 15 degrees cooler than it is in town. This means, it can get quite chilly depending on the season / time of day. Additionally, Sparks Lake is home to millions (yes, MILLIONS) of mosquitos. With the weather and bugs in mind, it’s best to dress in layers with ample amount of bug spray.
